2GUD is Here to Replace Ebay India

In India, the e-commerce industry has been booming in the last couple of years and hence, the likes of Flipkart, Snapdeal, Amazon and many other smaller businesses have thrived. While these are sellers of new products, there are also businesses that buy and sell old and refurbished goods, and the worldwide leader in this business has been none other than Ebay, since over a couple of decades.

Ebay India was also active for a few years before Flipkart acquired the brand and shut down operations, only to open another business in its name – 2GUD.com. This is an up and coming website with the same business concept as Ebay India, and it has been operational since the last couple of months now.

Earlier this year, in a record e-commerce deal, global leader Walmart acquired Flipkart and since then, Flipkart has been making a lot of growth too. 2GUD is the premier destination for refurbished electronics at delightful prices in India and as of now, they are only operational on a mobile website and they have no official app on the Google Play Store as yet.

2GUD

2GUD launched in August 2018 and it became Flipkart’s first independent platform for refurbished goods, where users can get used goods that are certified by professionals and that come with 3-12 month warranties and also an easy 10-day return policy. So go ahead and get refurbished mobiles, electronics, accessories, appliances and many other products online, only on 2GUD.

Kalyan Krishnamurthy, Flipkart CEO, commented on the same, saying, “As a market leader, Flipkart has always tried to solve for India and offer a more fulfilling shopping experience in every aspect. With 2GUD, we have removed the trust deficit that exists in the refurbished goods market, and along with the added convenience, are offering customers yet another avenue to access quality products at the most affordable prices.”

Anil Goteti, Flipkart VP, will be heading 2GUD along with Flipkart Marketplace. Customers are assured of easy payment gateways and structures and very soon, 2GUD will also become available on the desktop platform as well as in a mobile app. Goteti also commented on 2GUD’s entry to the market.

He said, “The refurbished goods market has remained highly fragmented and unorganized despite its size, primarily due to complex processes, and missing assurance on the quality of products. Unlike existing C2C platforms, 2GUD offers an organised space devoid of regular buyer-seller interactions, which simplifies the process for both parties. 2GUD further leverages Flipkart’s capabilities in the service and support network to make it the preferred destination for certified, great-quality refurbished products.”
