Earlier this evening, Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan took to Twitter to announce that he had tested positive for coronavirus and that he was admitted to Mumbai’s Nanavati Hospital, have mild symptoms for COVID-19. Prior to his tweet, no media houses had got a hold of this news.
While Big B’s tweet only spoke about his own health, he also mentioned that other members of his family were awaiting test results, while advising those who he came in contact with over the last 10 days to also get themselves tested. Just over an hour later, his son Abhishek Bachchan took to Twitter to announce that he was also COVID positive.
Earlier today both my father and I tested positive for COVID 19. Both of us having mild symptoms have been admitted to hospital. We have informed all the required authorities and our family and staff are all being tested. I request all to stay calm and not panic. Thank you. ๐๐ฝ

His tweet read, “Earlier today both my father and I tested positive for COVID 19. Both of us having mild symptoms have been admitted to hospital. We have informed all the required authorities and our family and staff are all being tested. I request all to stay calm and not panic. Thank you. ๐๐ฝ”
While Abhishek hasn’t had nearly a successful career as his father, he finally made a return to the screen with ‘Breathe: Into the Shadows‘ that aired on Amazon Prime on 10th July and was getting a lot of social media buzz, with audiences across the country loving his performance in the Amazon Original web series.

However, Abhishek will not be in the mood of celebrating his success right now, as he also has mild symptoms and will focus completely on recovering from this fatal disease first. The 44-year old and his father are both in hospital at the moment and he also tweeted a while back saying they are complying with the guidelines as laid down by the BMC.
The fact that the Bachchans tested positive for Covid makes me worry about my family. If the rich, influential and privileged are at risk, fir humko kaun bacha sakta hai.
