It’s been a year to record deaths of some really big names across the world. We began with the loss of basketball legendary player Kobe Bryant and since then, there was plenty of chaos caused by the bushfires and of course, the coronavirus pandemic. In India, we’ve lost a few legendary actors in the last month or so.
Irrfan and Rishi Kapoor bid their final goodbyes to this world while it was not even 4 days ago that Sushant Singh Rajput committed suicide, only 34 years of age. Now, a lesser known but equally talented member of the Malayalam film industry has passed away and the community is mourning its loss at the moment.
We’re talking about film director, screenwriter and producer, KR Sachidanandan, who was lovingly known as just Sachy by his colleague and the Mollywood industry. Bollywood star John Abraham who shared the news to mainstream social media, tweeted a few minutes ago, saying, “Shattered to lose such a talent. Rest In Peace my friend. #RIP #Sachy”

This lockdown has been sad period for everyone and these high-profile deaths only add to the sadness of the industry. A couple of weeks back, Chiranjeevi Sarja also passed away at a very young age, just 2 years after getting married. Sachy is reported to have breathed his last at a private hospital in Thrissur, Kerala.

It’s said that he was admitted on 16 June 2020 for total hip replacement surgery and suffered a cardiac arrest after that. He was put on the ventilator at the Jubilee Mission Hospital but ended up passing away on 18th June. Director of blockbuster film Ayyappanum Koshiyum, Sachy is one of the most talented filmmakers in the South and he will surely be missed.
