JUST IN: Popular Assamese actress and singer Bidisha Bezbaruah, who recently acted in Bollywood film Jagga Jasoos, was found dead on Tuesday at her residence in Sushant Lok area of Gurugram, New Delhi. Her husband, Nisheet was arrested Wednesday morning after Bidisha’s father filed a complaint against him, as reported by ANI news agency.
The 30-year old actress Bidisha was a very well known TV personality who has hosted many stage shows in her career as well. The actress recently shifted from Mumbai to Gurugram, as reported by The Quint.
“As per the complaint filed by her relatives, the case has been filed against her husband under IPC Section 306“, Gurugram police Police Reporting Officer (PRO) Ravinder Kumar told IANS. Section 306 relates to abetment to suicide.
Bidisha’s family had also accused her husband of having extra-marital affairs and she told her parents before death that she wanted to divorce Nisheet, according to reports. The actress had reportedly been suffering emotionally and often complained of harassment by Nisheet’s parents as well.
Bezbaruah was found hanging from a ceiling fan of her recently acquired rented apartment. However, this wasn’t going to be left as just suicide as her father suspected foul-play. She wasn’t picking her calls on Monday evening and he approached the police to gave details of her local address, as reported by Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Deepak Saharan.
To add to that, there was no suicide note was found at her place of residence. Assam police are now examining her mobile phone, Facebook accounts and conversations on other social networking websites. Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today spoke to his Haryana counterpart Manohar Lal Khattar and has seeked a proper and complete probe into the actress’ death.
