The entire #MeToo movement is giving a whole new perspective to life as we know it. There are some actors, politicians, and men of many other occupations, that have always lived respectful and dignified lives. Lives where no one could point a finger at them. Lives which make us respect such individuals over the years. However, are these all just disguises?
Tanushree Dutta’s recent sexual harassment allegations against veteran actor Nana Patekar has led to a string of sexual harassment allegations by people from various walks of life. One particular entity who has become a victim of these allegations is Bollywood’s very own ‘Sanskaari’ (traditional) actor, Alok Nath.
See Nanda’s post on Facebook:
Now her post would’ve left the audiences thinking this could’ve been a one-time incident. However, a number of industry members have since then come out against Alok Nath, one being a crew member of popular movie ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’. The woman, who wishes to stay anonymous to protect the dignity of her family, mentioned that she got the courage to speak out against Nath after Nanda’s post on Facebook.
She narrated an incident where they were shooting a night scene and she went to hand over a change of costumes to Nath, who then started stripping in front of her and grasped her hand when she tried to run out of the room. She was manhandled and didn’t report the incident to producer-director, Sooraj Barjatya, as he was a good family friend of Nath’s. This incident led her to quitting the film industry altogether.
In truth & solidarity.

Well, the story doesn’t end right here. The next one to take a shot at Alok Nath was TV, film and theater actress Deepika Amin. She tweeted about how everyone knew what a drunken mess Nath is. And how he’s always fallen over women over the years. The question then is, why hasn’t anything been said over the years? Why has someone with such a nasty history been respected by the industry over the years? How many more #MeToo stories can we hear against this man before some action is taken?
Here’s Amin’s tweet:
Everyone in the industry knows that #AlokNath is an obnoxious drunkard who harasses women. Years ago on a telefilm outdoor shoot he tried to barge into my room. He slobbered over women, drunk and created a scene. The unit rallied around me and made sure I was safe. #metoo
