Iconic Bollywood choreographer and someone who was lovingly known as ‘masterji’, Saroj Khan has passed away in Mumbai at the age of 71 years. Having directed over 2,000 songs in her illustrious career, Saroj was mostly known for her dance numbers with Madhuri Dixit and Sridevi. Having been in hospital since 20 June, she unfortunately passed away last night.
Khan was admitted to Guru Nanak Hospital in Mumbai after she complained of having difficulty in breathing late on Saturday night, a couple of weeks ago. Since then, thousands of tweets and prayers came pouring in on social media, hoping for the iconic choreographer’s speedy recovery. She was even tested for coronavirus and the result was negative.
“She was admitted to Guru Nanak Hospital in Bandra East for breathing issues. She is doing well now and will be discharged in a day or two. She doesn’t have COVID-19 symptoms. Her report has come out negative,” a relative of Saroj Khan told the media when she was initially admitted to hospital. The 71-year old has choreographed a bunch of hit Bollywood dance videos over the decades.
