Koffee With Karan Season 7 kicked off earlier this month, with plenty of changes including a new show format, a live jury and audience, and several new guests as well. It’s also the first time the show is being aired on an OTT platform, being broadcast on Disney+ Hotstar. And with three episodes released already, it’s been a laugh riot so far…
On episode three, we had Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar being paired with South Indian actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu, the latter making her debut on the KWK coach. It was an unlikely pairing but the two of them were great together, giving the audience a lot to laugh about. Akshay in particular, was at his best.
Akshay Kumar misuses the word ‘fillers’
As usual, Karan scheduled the Rapid Fire section with his guests and this time, it was one question each to the guests. Kumar was asked about what he doesn’t like about today’s Bollywood generation and what they’re obsessed with. He very quickly said ‘Fillers’ and there was a couple of seconds of silence as everyone tried to make sense of what he meant.
Karan was quick to think of fillers as Botox as Botox has become very common in today’s generation among actors and actresses. However, Akshay said no and picked up his phone to say fillers again. And it took everyone a while to realise that he actually meant ‘Filters’ which are used to enhance pictures on social media apps.

Both Samatha and Karan burst out into a fit of laughter as they realised that Akshay had no clue that the word was filters and not fillers. However, he took the joke graciously on himself as he said he’s never used them and hence doesn’t even know what they’re called. After a while, everyone managed to compose themselves from this joke and move on with the rapid fire. See here:

He further went on to talk about many other things including his marriage with Twinkle Khanna, how he helps with her profession, and gave advice to other men in married relationships as well. His advice for having a happy marriage was ‘simply listen’ and don’t say anything. As for Samantha, she enjoyed her first time on KWK as well.
So far on the three episodes, Karan also hosted Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the first episode, followed by the so called ‘best friends’ Janhvi Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan in episode two. It’s just the start of what looks like will become his best season so far, and you shouldn’t miss out on any of the fun here.
One interesting take from Samantha we got right through the episode is that the path to her heart is currently shut. And we understand that too, because she had a very ugly split with her husband recently, and a lot of it was public knowledge which made the situation even worse for the ‘Oo Antava’ dancer.
