In February this year, Christine Bleakley, wife of footballing star Frank Lampard, revealed how she dotes on her two step-daughters and that she wanted a child of her own too. A few months later and guess what? The couple has announced that they are pregnant and expecting their first child together.
Frank Lampard, former Chelsea and England football team midfielder, has two kids Luna, 12, and Isla, 10, from his previous relationship with Elen Rivas and he got married to Christine Bleakley in 2015. A part of her wanting to get a kid of her own was the content she had with her two step-daughters.
“They both wrote the most beautiful cards which made me cry. I couldn’t believe how much they loved me. The wee one wrote ‘I usually start cards with “dear” but this is an extraordinary card for an extraordinary person.’ She is 10! She went on to say ‘I love you being my stepmum’ and so I started to cry. I’m proud I have that kind of relationship with them,” said Christine about how the kids celebrated her 39th birthday.
Lampard, also 39, met Christine at the Mirror’s Pride of Britain Awards in 2009 and got married to her 6 years later. The latest addition to their family was their dog Minnie, who is loved by the kids and parents both. Now, they are set to add another member to the family in a few months from today.
Chrstine is an Irish television personality. She said this in February, “If it happens, of course it will be wonderful. If not we have the two girls – and one is about to embark on her teenage years, so that is a whole other chapter about to happen.” Well it did happen and the couple couldn’t be happier at the moment.
